Avobenzone:
It is a common ingredient in sunscreens helpful in absorbing UVA rays. It absorbs UVA rays of wavelength 320-400nm, which are responsible for premature aging and contribute to skin cancer. -
Octinoxate:
Octinoxate is effective at absorbing UVB rays (280-320 nm), which are primarily responsible for causing sunburn and contributing to skin cancer. By filtering out these harmful rays, it helps protect the skin from sunburn and long-term damage. -
Zinc Oxide:
A protective zinc oxide layer on top of the skin reflects and absorbs the harmful UVA (also considered to be carcinogenic) and UVB rays such that they don’t reach your skin. -
Benzophenone-4:
It acts as a photostabilizer in sunscreen formulations, helping to stabilize other UV filters like Avobenzone, which can degrade in sunlight. This ensures the sunscreen remains effective for longer periods during sun exposure.
